- The high quality of EIT shows us more subtle and detailed magnetic features than ever before. EIT images show the
- development over time of the polar areas, with their plume structures, where the solar wind is accelerated.
- Temperatures of these structures in both polar coronal hole and in low latitude decaying active region were found to be
- cooler than the surrounding material.
- Temperature studies of large-scale coronal features extend previous coronagraph work with low-noise temperature
- maps. Active region loops were found to be isothermal for the low loops but hottest at the loop tops for the large loops.
